Holiday Vacation Must Haves

Is your family like the McCallisters who always take a family vacation over Christmas (without leaving some one behind, of course)? Are you headed to the beach, perhaps? Maybe on a cruise?  A hotel with a nice, heated indoor pool? If you’ve answered “yes” to any of the above then keep reading, my friend! You’re not going to want to forget these 5 things.

5 Things Successful Mom Bosses Do

A few weeks ago, I got the opportunity to attend a super fun event with other bloggers and Mom Bosses that were totally inspiring to me. I always love hearing how successful women became successful and what they do to stay that way. And because I’m such a super generous and thoughtful person (ha!), I partnered with STARTplanner to share some tips that I have learned with you!

What I Will Teach My Daughters About the 2016 Election

It’s been 3 weeks since the presidential election. I wrote this post the day after the election but because social media was such a hot-bed of hate that day (and many days following – and still is in some places), I decided to hold off on posting it and wrote something very similar (but different) instead. I had no plans of ever publishing this one but was encouraged by a blogger friend that I should. I have chosen to not edit it and post it exactly as originally written.

10 Lessons From My First 6 Months of Blogging

It’s hard to believe that my 6 month blogiversary was last week! In some ways I feel like I have been doing this for years and in other ways I feel like I just started yesterday. I have had a lot of successes in the past 6 months, all of which I am very proud. But, at the end of the day I am still a total newb who is just trying to navigate her way through this crazy blogger life.

This corner of the internet started out as a hobby for me, an outlet. And, in many ways it still is. It’s something that is mine and only mine. I get to experiment, express, and engage. It’s a labor of love, for sure. All of that said, I’ve made some mistakes along the way and discovered a few things.

Stress-Free Appetizer with Stella Cheese

Have I ever mentioned how not-domestic I am? Well, if I’ve failed to mention that until now, I apologize. I lack the gift of being able to create beauty with food and I’m not exactly the best hostess, either. The good news is that I’m not the worst (but pretty close). But, that being said, I have found myself hosting small-holiday dinners over the past few years and have had to scramble for appetizers for my guests. I mean, isn’t preparing a huge meal enough? Apparently not. So, sometimes I get a shrimp cocktail ring and call it a day. Other times, I set out “fancy” chips and dips or something of the like. We busy mamas don’t have a ton of time so low maintenance is the way for me. Stress-Free. Well, this year I decided to take an extra step and go with a Stella Cheese board using their delicious Romano and Parmesan cheeses! Stress-Free can be delicious, too!

Giving Thanks

Back in college, I used to make a point to write down a list of things for which I am thankful every year at Thanksgiving. I don’t know when or why I stopped but I decided that I want to start again. Life can be busy and challenging and straight up hard but we are abundantly privileged and blessed and have so much for which to be grateful. I think it’s so important to take a step back and acknowledge all the good in our lives. Here’s my list (not in any particular order).

How to Save Time on Holiday Cards

It’s that time of year! Christmas carols, hot cocoa, Hallmark movies, lights, decorations, and holiday cards. If you’re like me, you have a love-hate relationship with Christmas cards. I love receiving and displaying them, and even love sending them. But, I hate the work that goes into it! Between tracking down addresses, shopping around for the best price, and addressing and stamping envelopes, it can be a real Christmas buzz-kill and takes way more time than it ever should, am I right? Well, I have some tips to make the process smoother.

The Best Time Saving Tip for Busy Moms

It’s no secret that I, like most moms, am pretty busy. One glimpse into a day in my life, and it would be very evident that I need to take shortcuts wherever I can. And, boy do I! As much as I would like to strive for perfection in all that I do, it’s just not possible. So, I prioritize and decide ahead of time what things I need to spend the most time on and what things I can cut corners on. So, with that, I want to share the single most valuable hack I have for busy, working moms (or any moms, really).

The Girly Girl’s Gift Guide

Gift Guide FB.png

Y’all. I’m so proud of myself this year because I’ve actually started Christmas shopping early! I’m usually a post-Thanksgiving shopper but since time is something I don’t have enough of these days, I decided that little-by-little over a longer period of time is the way to go. That said, I thought I would share some of the gifts my girls are getting for Christmas this year. For reference, A is four years old and E is two, and while they both appreciate all kinds of toys, they are super girly at heart (and I love it).

Girl Moms, We Have a Big Job

This is not a political post. That said, this election week has been crazy, to say the least. Many have been asking how we will explain it to our children. What do we tell our daughters? How could this have happened? I had a different blog post written yesterday but, after some reflection, decided not to post it. Rather than think about what this election may or may not teach my children, I realized that what my husband and I teach our children – our daughters – will hold more weight with them than anyone else on the planet. So, I redirected my focus away from current events.
